💕GIDDY POST ALERT 💕"Misery Loves Company, Too" will be featured on tonight's episode (#303) of the @att original series, @youmeher. It airs at 10pm ET/PT on the @audiencenetwork. This is my first placement, and I couldn't be more excited. You can bet yer bottom dollar I'm gonna figure out how to watch this, even though we only have 12 channels on our cable device. Hit a girl up if you have the hookup. #youmeher #grateful #miserylovescompanytoo #slowandsteady #northstarmedia #hashtag
Yesterday, I said “farewell” to our family home of the last 16 years. Although I’d been helping my mom clean everything out for the last few months, the goodbye itself was pretty brief. It wasn’t until I was about an hour down the road back to Nashville that I realized it was the last time I’d likely see this place from the inside out ever again. •

We truly lived in this home. This is where I spent my formative (awkward) middle and high school years. It’s where I parked my first car: The 1992 boxy Volvo, complete with a sunroof that needed to be cranked by hand. I wrote song after song after song within the safe and familiar four walls of my lime green (and eventually deep blue) bedroom. I fell in love for the first time. I felt the pain of heartbreak for the first time. Dubbed by my friends as the “cozy house”, it hosted many a sleepover. We’d “sneak out” late at night (I usually left a note for my mom and dad, just in case they woke up and worried), and we’d roam the neighborhood streets. Everything looks different after midnight. I found my voice. I lost my voice. I found it again. I’ll never forget the owl who perched on the tree outside my bedroom window, hooting at me late into the evening or the woodpecker who decided that the wall behind my pillow was the best place to enjoy his morning snack. I’ll never forget when Yogi ate my chocolate bar from underneath the tree, and we were forced to ring in Christmas morning on the floor of the emergency vet clinic… 2 years in a row. The landline telephone is likely the last I’ll ever have. This is where I retired my AOL email address (MADe4music1@aol.com). In my senior year of high school, the mailbox hosted a slew of college acceptance letters (eventually followed by scholarship denial letters). I said my first “goodbye” then, but it was more of a “so long for now”, because I knew I’d be back. While away at college, I changed, but home stayed the same.

There's so much to say, it's almost hard for me to say much of anything. But I am grateful. I am grateful to have a mother who feels as strongly as I do about important HUMAN issues and who didn't even hesitate when I asked her if she wanted to join me in the march today. I am grateful for the experience of listening to and marching alongside survivors. I am grateful to live in a country filled with strong, inspiring young individuals (the future looks brighter because of them). I am grateful to have a voice to speak up for those who no longer can. It could have been me. It could have been you. Enough is finally enough, and I can feel the winds of change. 💙#marchforourlives #marchforourlivescharlotte #inspireddoesntevenbegintocoverit #vote
The Royal Family. Circa 1993.
We inhaled two gigantic burritos before this. #brosbeforeburritos
